How to setup Proximity Voice Chat Mod for noobs
Using the CurseForge Mod Manager
Note: At some point CurseForge will ask for access to your microphone. Make sure you allow access.
- Download the Standalone installer for CurseForge (Not the Overwolf version) here
- Run the CurseForge Installer from step 1
- Now that you have installed CurseForge, find the app and open it
- You may have to login or create a CurseForge account
- Once in the app, navigate to the Home tab
- Select Minecraft
- Click on the 3 dots in the top right, next to your account name, and Click "Open game settings"
- Scroll down to find "Allocated Memory", then set the value to ideally 8000MB to 10000MB. I wouldn't set this to more then 75% of your computer's RAM, Minecraft doesn't see any preformance boost past 10000MB.
- Click the "x" at the top right to exit the settings menu
- Click the "+ Create" button under "My Modpacks"
- Name the profile "Voice Chat" or whatever you'd prefer
- Set Minecraft version to 1.21.10
- Set the Modloader to Fabric
- Click Create
- Now you should be viewing the profile and see"This modpack has no content". Click the "+ Add More Content" button that is below "Play" or "Cancel"
- In the search bar, search for "voice chat"
- Install the Simple Voice Chat mod by henkelmax by using the orange "Install" button
- Recommended Optional Installs:
- Hit the x at the top of the search page, in a circle
- Click Play and Enjoy
- Once inside of a world, press "v" to open the voice chat menu and set your preferences
